SAFETY This course does not aim to provide students with all the knowledge necessary to work on hybrid or Electric vehicles. Smog Tech Institute warns technicians to strictly adhere to all published safety guidelines when working on or around hybrid and electric cars. The institute recommends a higher level of training than what this course offers to ensure safety. High-voltage systems are powerful and hazardous and can result in fatal accidents for technicians who do not have sufficient training. Subjects covered include: 1. Describe routine service procedures for both hybrid and electric vehicles. 2. Explain how to place a hybrid vehicle in maintenance mode. 3. Describe the service cautions when changing the oil and filter on a hybrid vehicle. 4. Explain how to service the base brake system on a hybrid or electric vehicle. 5.
